Online content is a collection of insights which are used to convey a message across the different forms of media on the internet.

Content varies primarily on format. Basically there are four types of online content today, and these are:
•Written content-these are articles, website write-ups, blog posts, etc. This content comes in the form of words.
•Visual content- these come in the form of photos and pictures, like memes and captioned images shared across the internet.
•Audio content-these are mostly soundclips, like .mp3 files.
•Video content-these are motion pictures that are shared on the likes of YouTube, or uploaded on websites.

Content also varies on how it is used. These include:
•Web content-this kind of content is rather informative and formal, as it is used to give purpose to its website.
•Viral content-viral content is the kind that’s heavily shared due to its material. These are often photos, audio and video files that captured the interest of bigger audiences.
•Feature content-this kind of content serves to provide help or answer questions of its audiences. These are often in the form of blog entries, magazine-type articles, and even social media
•Marketing content. This kind of content meanwhile is used for direct selling and convincing of audiences. This content can be found in sales pages, promotional site pages, and email

•Online content usually shifts from one kind to another. For example, a simple YouTube video can be the next viral sensation overnight when it gets shared by users to their respective
social networks. Meanwhile web write-ups or blog posts that have proven to be very informative can likewise become viral within the communities where they are relevant.


Why content matters to your online marketing strategy

Basically, content is what your audience will look for in your website, blog and other established online presence.
–Without content, you won’t have an online presence. Your blogs, social network profiles and websites will be empty and useless.
–Content serves as the soul of your online presence, and the core of your marketing strategy.
–You will never reach the top of the search rankings without content, or gain a following in social media. Most of all, you won’t be able to rake in the money if you don’t have content at
