Facebook Problems Today

There is nothing in this world which gives us some benefit is without any flaw, for some or the other, that thing can be harmful. The world’s best creations have always showed a downside to them as well, may it be electricity or Nuclear energy, for some it is productive and for some it is destructive. Coming towards our topic of discussion, social networks are creation and need of modern communication systems. People can stay connected to each other by using them. But on the other hand these social networks have turned out to be very dangerous for us as well. These social networking sites like Facebook have not only encouraged acts of identity theft and Hacking, but also gave birth to the issues in fields of social affiliations, emotional gloominess and dejection, trade and cyber stalking.

People have started to live two separate lives, one in reality, and other over social networks – and quite strangely for some, latter one is more important. We can find thousands of such examples where people started their relationships over a social networking site. However relationships started over social networking sites tend to get OVER soon as well, because they have fewer propensities to support expressions and most particularly physical contact. These are couple of reasons due to which relations come clattering down.

No doubt that the internet industry is currently flourishing at a great speed, and providing people with great number of benefits – that was unimaginable before. Still there persist few flaws in the way industry operates. Online advertising and rivalry of marketers – to make their message standout – is damaging the industry. Advertisers try to obtain maximum personal information of people as they possibly can obtain. Sites like Facebook in past have been scrutinized on this issue of disclosing personal information to advertisers. For now the security systems provided by social networking sites have become little better and safer.

When you start spending more and more time on Facebook you will end up being attracted to the ads displayed in Facebook. You may click on one of them and be led to an e-commerce site. Soon, you will end up spending money on stuff that you were not planning to buy in the first place.

The other major area where you can end up losing money is when you start playing games. It would initially start as a fun activity. However, you will soon start to spend a lot of time playing these games and updating your progress as status messages in Facebook. You will also want to come on top in these games and you will not hesitate to buy additional elements of the game by paying for them. The worst part of this is that because you are updating your progress on status messages, your friends also will be tempted to start playing these games. Soon it becomes a vicious circle where you spend more and more of your waking hours in front of your computer or your smart phone just playing games or chatting on Facebook.

In addition to all of this, parents have been seen complaining, and worrying that their children are spending too much of their precious time over social networking sites. Where they actually should have been studying or doing some constructive activity.

Parents can play an active role in helping their children to ward off the ill effects of spending too much time on Facebook. They can discuss with the kid and decide on a fixed amount of time that the child can access the site every day. If the child ends up spending more time on Facebook then you can consider withdrawing some privileges such as reduce the amount of pocket money he receives and so on.

Social networks make life of hackers very simple. They are successfully able to stalk anyone they want, and march into the privacy of their potential target. This is also known as Cyber Stalking. You as a user may not be aware of the number of people who can view your information online. And hackers also utilize this information to steal your identity, or any other important information.

You must be very careful about what information you share on Facebook. Keep this to a minimum and do not ever share information about your relationships in social networking sites such as Facebook. Your breakups should be private affairs and not an opportunity to mud sling others in public. You must also restrict yourselves from fault finding exercises on social networking sites such as Facebook. For example, most people may not like their bosses and their jobs, but Facebook is not the place to vent out your frustrations. This can lead to serious trouble, including difficulty in landing your next job.

Concept of superficiality has increased enormously through the use of online networking sites. You cannot judge anyone unless and until you meet him/her. And on most occasions you will be shocked to find out that the person you were talking to is actually very different from what he/she was pretending to be.

This is because most people tend to cover up their faults when they interact with others and it is far easier to do that in social networking sites such as Facebook than in the real world. You are blindly relying on the profile information about the person while accepting his or her friendship in Facebook. You might be surprised to know that there are a whole lot of fake profiles in Facebook. After all there is no checking done to verify the authenticity of a profile unless you try to fake a celebrity profile. Thus Facebook has a lot of scam artist trying to take advantage of the relatively young crowd who form the major chunk of Facebook users.

Today’s significant purpose for having Social networking sites is that an individual can be tactful in displaying the information online. Confidentiality and other things stated above can be barred if the consumer avoids disclosing the information that can be hazardous for them.
