No less than Pacquiao gave this assessment after watching Mayweather fight against Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto Saturday evening ( Sunday noon in Manila).
"May pag-asa pa ang Pacquiao-Mayweather. Depende sa negotiation (There's still hope for a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight. It depends on the negotiations)," Pacquiao told this reporter from his condominium unit here.
Pacquiao, who is also representative of Sarangani province, arrived here Saturday night.
From the airport, the world boxing champion went straight to his home and watched the Mayweather-Cotto fight along with some family members and close friends.
Pacquiao, who is scheduled to face American Timothy Bradley on June 9 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, will start his training here on Monday.
Pacquiao and Mayweather have tried several times to get a contract signed but it has been scuttled for a variety of reasons, including disagreements over blood testing and the share of the purse.
